Pre-COMP NEWS

New spring session started March 20th week and ends May 26th. We are at full capacity and a waiting list is in effect. Click here to check availability and register if possible. Note that payment must be received in order for your registration to be finalized and your spot secured. Mail to Swim Ottawa, PO Box 23100, Ottawa, ON K2A 4E2.
PreComp Fun Meets will be held Sat Apr 28, 4:00-5:30 pm and Sat May 26, 3:30-5:30 pm @ Brewer Pool. See you there!

We are proposing a new "Pre-Comp Summer Camp" August 20th week this summer. Camp will be Mon-Fri 8-4 pm (or similar) at the JCC. Agenda will be swim practice, aquatic games, team building, and dry land activities. Target audience will be current pre-competitive swimmers such as Whales, ages 8-10 years old who plan on joining competitive swimming clubs such as Swim Ottawa in September, 2012. Coach will be Emily Anzai, 2012 Olympic Trials qualifier and other coaches as needed. Cost TBA. Email us if you're interested and we will provide you with more details.

Swim Ottawa Wins Div III Championships

Swim Ottawa come out winners at the Provincial Division III Team Championships held in Sudbury, Ontario April 20-22, 2012. It came down to the last race as the club beat Owen Sound by 1.5 points! Congratulations all round to the coach Marie, Sheri, and Trevor as well as the participant swimmers, chaperones, and Pierre the bus driver. As a result, the club will now be moved up to the Div II ranks next season. Way to challenge SWOTT!

SWOTT Advances to Third at Regional Championships

Each season, Swim Ottawa continues to climb the podium at the Annual Regional Swimming Championships held in February at the Nepean Sportsplex. Out of 20 participating clubs, the club has matched its high of a third place finish behind two of the much larger clubs in the city. Congrats to our athletes, parents, and our coaches! GFSC Becomes Swim Ottawa

Effective August, 2011, the Gefilte Fish Swim Club has officially been renamed Swim Ottawa (SWOTT). Our great tradition over the past ten years evolves with the name change...but with the same club philosophy and makeup. What's in a name? We expect to continue our successful development of precomp up to our competitive members in the years ahead. Join us and ride our wave!
